First attempt at proper silversmithing. An intital attempt to saw out the diagonal runes failed miserably but serendipitously and lead me to instead span an excised space with silver wire. I’m really pleased with the effect, much more interesting than just a silhouette.

The main difficulties here were when the ring was beaten into the round everything shifted, as well as when, again while hammering, the D rune (top in right pic) broke through the side. While it was possible to repair it with solder there’s a visible jack there.

All in all though I am thrilled with the result, a wide band featuring the Irish word for pride, brĂ³d, in the Irish runic script Ogham.
